Cuon Scout Day (23 Feb)

Dear Cuon Scouts,

Group Anniversary, also known as Cuon Scout Day is a time for all members to re-affirm their dedication to the service and to the good cause, reflect upon their achievements over the past year and prepare themselves for new challenges ahead.

THE GROWTH

2. The Cuon Scout Troop was founded in 2002 as a Scout CCA in Greenview Secondary School to provide students with a better understanding of the Scouting movement and as a result, develop an all rounded activities. Over the past 9 years, Cuon Scout Troop has grown to a fully integrated Scout Group and grown to be one of the premiums Scout Group with over 150 members. Supported by a strong base of volunteer Leaders, undertake the noble task of ensuring our group’s progression, and paving its route to success. Our Group provides a myriad of life skill training and outdoor activities for the Scouts, guiding them towards the wholesome development of both body and mind.

THE CUON SCOUTING EXPERIENCE

3. Through Cuon Scouting, youths during their formative years are imbued with qualities such as discipline, leadership skills and strong civic, social and moral values. The experiences and training that the Cuon Scouts go through are lessons that will stay with them for life. Training including Leadership, Initiatives, Self-Reliance, National Education, Pursuit of Interest, Community Service, Camping, Outdoors, Conservation, Abseiling, Diving and many more. It prepares the Scouts to be all rounded and responsible citizens of the nation. In addition, courses in communication and management develop in our Scouts the complementary life skills essential in helping them to meet the challenges that workforce brings.

AWARDS

4. 2010 has been a fruitful year for Cuon Scout Group. The Frank Cooper Sands Award 2010, is encouraging and a sense of pride for all of us. The Cub Scout Pack attains their first Gold Award; Scout Troop maintains Gold Award for consecutive of 4-years since 2007; Venture Scout Unit clinches Bronze Award and Rover Scout Crew attains their first Silver Award. Well Done!

5. As we celebrate the Cuon Scout Day, I call upon all Cuon Scouts to continue bearing the Group’s Mission and Core Values in mind. With a correct mindset, we will rise to greater heights with sterling reputation of professionalism; integrity and excellence performance.
