Singapore Jamboree

Hey Scouts

Singapore's Centenary and 3rd ASEAN Jamboree took place on 4 Dec 2010 - 9Dec 2010. TL Iftikhaar, SPLs Jazreel and Jiahao, PL Shu and APL Jordan participated in the century Jamboree. While PL Hanis, Acting PL Cheryl and APLs Baoyang and Wayne rendered their services at Scout HQ as Heritage Tour Guides, bringing Scouts who visited around the Scout Discovery Centre.

It is a very good and enjoyable experience, I would like to encourage those Scouts that did not participant one way or another to participate in the future. Activities like Jamborees usually come once in every four years, it is an experience given exclusively to Scouts and Guides internationally. I'm sure all Jamboree participants had their fill of fun and look forward to future Jamborees. While in Scouting, you might as well enjoy as much as you can!

Facilities / Equipment Booking System

Dear All

Due to the increasing of usage for common facility / equipment between units. Thus I would like to introduce that we book it online and priority shall be given to applicant on first-come-first served basis.


We will give a try for 3 months, to monitor is there a need to continue or scrap or to improve on it.

Although now, we doesn’t have any problem within the units for the usage. It will be good, if there is a system in place, proactive than reactive.

Factories. Job scope will be filling in forms, issuing gifts,
explaining of some admin procedures to members and carrying some

after talking to u guys... I'm really hope that my appointment holders are a leader not a worker.. A patrol needs a Leader to lead, guide, care , love, share with them not a silent worker, work and work without any aim, objective, mission, vision... Zombie Leader ?

Same goes to leaders, leaders are there for a purpose, guide them to the right path, share their experience and knowledge. To be a leader not a Ladder to your own personal gain and achievement.

The only thing that walks back from the tomb with the mourners and refuses to be buried is the character of a man.

Thanks for your response. Here is the requirements for the craftsman and technical badges…
To create a display panel that showcase all the knots and lashings, it can be standard, advanced or new knots or lashings. No restriction on the amount, purely on your capability and goal that you wish to achieve. As for the display, layout, materials, etc. Is your call and your creativity to create.Same goes to the date, time, venue and job, your call.

You may do it at patrol or individual level, but I strongly suggest to do it at patrol level. I ever done it before by myself and seriously is no joke..Present your plan to us and once is approve, each team will be given $50 to buy the necessary materials.


Submission date: 8 January 2010, Scout meeting.

Last but not least and the most important thing, please insert your name or all names on the display panel. Is your credit and is your hardwork. This will pass down generation by generation and every Scouts that pass through the den will appreciate what you created.

Non-participants are to report at 0900 in PT Kit with covered shoes and Centenary Scarf(white-coloured).

Today was the Scout Lore Quest Competition. I am proud to say that we have emerged champion and also clinched the Bronze ! Good job guys. The training paid off. Both them put in a lot of effort for this competition. - Scouts which born in 1996, you may apply for the Silver Award.



- Scouts which born in 1995, you may apply for the Gold Award.



Please kindly fill up the form and submit to your Patrol Leader not later by 14 August 2010. TL , please collect all and pass it to me on 14 August.

During the submission of NYAA, I discovered few mistakes by you guys, which are not accepted. Please take it seriously and prevent such thing happen in future for any submission.


a) Wrote the entries in ‘RED’ Ink. (RUDE)
b) Entries not in chronological order, very untidy
c) Rubbish entries which don’t contribute to the fact.
d) Year not stated
e) Missing NRIC no
f) Doesn’t meet the requirement.


Learn from it and don’t make the same error. All TL, SPLs and PLs each deducted 200 points for failing to ensure. On the same note, TL and SPLs awarded points still goes to their patrol until 31 Dec 2010. To be fair, deduction should be also counted.

Vet and ensure before submit. Complacency doesn’t contribute to the better of excellence.
